It’s an honour for us today to celebrate Bonnie Starick, the incredible Palawa artist who has designed the Palawa Business Hub logo.

“Working with Bonnie to develop our logo was such an enjoyable experience,” said Sara Maynard.

“Through our conversations, Bonnie was able to beautifully weave Aboriginal culture throughout the design, from the shells of our islands, the yula/mutton bird flying across the Country, to the river reed string circling our island home.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better logo to represent the Palawa Business Hub.”

Bonnie was honoured to have been chosen to create the logo. “I know how many talented artists we have in our Community so it’s such an honour,” she said.

“This opportunity was unique in the sense that the logo had an open brief. It was created through genuine and open conversations about what the Palawa Business Hub meant and what they wanted to accomplish.

“The logo is hand drawn, and for me, I think that it makes the logo special – for all the small imperfections that come together to make something that represents a thriving and growing Community here in Lutruwita.

“I am excited to see such a great initiative being created as the Palawa Business Hub will benefit our Community business economy, as well as overall confidence in the abilities and strength of First Nations-run business in Lutruwita.”
